Too often, in the obnoxious sitcom tradition, actors deliver one-liners that sound nothing like their characters but a lot like the left-over material of an off-colour stand-up comic. In fact, she never really offers an explanation for her behaviour though the tone of her confession, with that off-hand "and, yes," in the middle, suggests the introductory remarks of the seventh or eighth speaker of the night at a routine meeting of Bestiality Anonymous. So, where do we go from there? Since dogs are perfectly capable of performing that service for themselves, Amy's motive was apparently not charitable. The sentence is spoken, in voice-over, by Amy, a wholesome young kindergarten teacher, in a flashback that sees her alone in her dorm room one night with her dog: "My name is Amy and yes, at college I blew my dog."
